
Customer Service Representative
Hi, I’m Jett! I’m a proud Ithaca native and a graduate of Tompkins Cortland Community College, where I earned my Associate’s in Applied Science in Early Childhood Education. I’ve been part of the Briar Patch team since 2019, serving as the hospital's Customer Service Representative.
Why I Chose This Profession
I feel strongly connected to our community in Ithaca, and I love being able to help make a difference for pet owners in our city. I truly believe the front desk is where care begins at our clinic; it's where caffeine flows freely, and I somehow become part receptionist, part therapist, and part pet whisperer.
When it comes down to it, I love being the first face clients see when they come in, even if their pets are usually more excited to see the treat jar.
My Favorite Part of My Job
The pets are obviously a big part of why I love my job at Briar Patch, but I also love the chaos and challenge of my role. I enjoy juggling ringing phones, checking people in, and doing everything I can to help everything in the office run well. It’s like running a tiny, fur-filled command center, and I kind of love it.
Every day is a new adventure when you work in veterinary care, and what really keeps me going is knowing I’m part of something that improves lives. I enjoy learning about the science behind the care our amazing team provides and seeing just how much of a difference it makes for pets and their families.
Personal Hobbies & Interests
Outside of work, I spend as much time as I can with my son, Altair. I’m also a photographer, a hiker, a figure drawing enthusiast, and an unapologetic fan of 1980s sci-fi culture and toy collecting. I have a deep appreciation for the emotional resonance of forgotten VHS covers and promotional material from old-school horror, sci-fi, and fantasy films — there’s just something magical about that era.
